Keep Doña Ana County Beautiful is encouraging everyone in the county to get involved with a national effort to do some outdoor spring cleaning.
The Great American Cleanup is a nationwide beautification initiative, gaining momentum in the spring. Keep Doña Ana County Beautiful, one of 1,200 participating program affiliates across the country, will keep pace with the rest of the nation from March through May.
“We depend on dozens of volunteers to help out during this time of year,” said Joe Padilla of Keep Doña Ana County Beautiful. “There is always a lot of work to be done to keep the county looking clean and beautiful, from graffiti removal, picking up litter, and hosting recycling drives.”
Keep Doña Ana County Beautiful will also participate in a National Day of Action on April 28, which will feature large-scale cleanups and coordinated events in cities across the country.
“Service to the community is the ultimate demonstration that you love where you live,” said Matthew McKenna, president and CEO of Keep America Beautiful. “Participating in the Great American Cleanup can become a foundation of uniting friends, family, neighbors, and communities in activities that don’t just make your community aesthetically pleasing, but also make it more effective at overcoming challenges.”
