Early voting gets underway at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Doña Ana County Government Center, in advance of the June 9 election, which will determine whether restaurants in unincorporated areas of Doña Ana County will be allowed to sell beer and wine. Early voting will continue through June 6 during normal business hours, excluding weekends and holidays. The only exception will be Saturday, June 6, when the Doña Ana County Government Center polling location will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The deadline to register to vote in the June 9 election is 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 12. Last-day registrations will be processed at the Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections in the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd., in Las Cruces. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Friday, June 5.
Residents of the City of Las Cruces, the Village of Hatch, the Town of Mesilla and the City of Sunland Park are not eligible to vote in this election. Only voters whose registered addresses are in unincorporated areas of Doña Ana County will be allowed to cast votes.
Election Day will be Tuesday, June 9, with consolidated polling places open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For a list of polling places, visit the Doña Ana County website at www.donaanacounty.org/elections
