The Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and saturation patrols this Thursday and Friday at undisclosed locations in the county.
Deputies will perform the DWI checkpoint Thursday from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. and carry out the saturation patrols Friday from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Patrols will be set up in areas of the county where roads are not accommodating to checkpoints. Other target areas include roads where statistics indicate high numbers of alcohol-related accidents and/or arrests in the past.
State grant funding will pay for additional sheriff's personnel to work both projects.
