Mission Statement:
To provide the safest possible environment to the residents of Dona Ana County by identifying and prioritizing potential threats and to assist in pre-planning emergency responses in an all hazards approach.
The Office of Emergency Management disseminates information and provides training to various emergency-response agencies. The office supervises and activates the Emergency Operations Center, as well as oversees mitigation and planning. It also deals with situations related to SARA Title III Community Right to Know, and provides and maintains OSHA Hazardous Communication Standards. The office updates and maintains an emergency resource list and an Emergency Operations Plan, and organizes and supports the Local Emergency Planning Committee.
