NOTICE of a PUBLIC HEARING
The Board of County Commissioners will consider amending the County’s Land Use Regulations and Zoning Ordinance No. 158-95 and The Subdivision Regulations No. 166-96 at a public hearing to be held on October 23, 2007 at 9:00 am at the County’s Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd. Las Cruces, NM.
The titles and generally summaries of the proposed amendments to both Ordinances are:
Title: Amendment to Ordinances No. 158-95, the Land Use Regulations and Zoning Ordinance and No. 166-96 the Subdivision Regulations
Summary: Requires developers who propose projects that involve more than one hundred (100) lots or acres to hold at least two (2) public “town hall style” meetings, to address the issues of infrastructure, affordable housing, open space, water, drainage, schools, and community and village zoning, and to allow for early public input into the planning process, prior to an application being considered complete for purposes of scheduling public hearings before the Planning and Zoning Commission or the Board of County Commissioners.
At the hearing, the Commission may also consider modifications to the Ordinance Amendments as proposed, including such things as the number of lots, number of acres, number of dwelling units versus number of lots, number of meetings held, exceptions for Master Planned areas, the notification radius, and requirements regarding signs.
Copies of the proposed amendments are available for inspection at the Office of the County Clerk located at the Government Center 845 N. Motel Blvd., in Las Cruces, NM between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
